My cat suffers from gas, bloating and abdominal pain. She became obsessed with eating weed to combat the problem. I wanted to find a way to fix the problem, not just fix the symptoms after the fact. I ordered this but it either did nothing or possibly made my cat's stomach problems worse. I used it every day for two weeks and her bloating increased and she was more obsessed with weed than ever. Pros: It must be tasty because my cat is pretty picky and had no problem with it. I just had to sprinkle it on her kibble and she ate it. My sister is a vet and I sent her a photo of the ingredients to ask if it would be okay for my cat. She told me she would never recommend prebiotics/FOS (inulin) to cats with gastrointestinal issues as it could make your cat's condition worse. There are some promising studies on the gastrointestinal benefits of inulin, but in their experience it's something for acute problems or to keep an already healthy cat healthy. For example, it can increase the effectiveness of probiotics when added to the diet. BUT in cats with GI problems, for which the cause has not yet been identified, she has seen it make their GI problems worse. This can help determine where the problem lies. That said, if it makes your cat feel better or worse, it may indicate that the issues are upper or lower gastrointestinal related, but in the end it's not worth it. I know, I know people say this all the time, but seriously - talk to your vet first!
