I had a similar product a long time ago. The Logitech Wingman Extreme, which was $50 when I bought it. I've played Star Wars Rogue Squadron for many hours. Then I forgot about PC games for more than ten years. Recently my interest in gaming was renewed, so I built a new machine and amassed a sizeable Steam library. Gaming has come a long way since my old wingman I lost somewhere along the way. I've played a few games where you have a flight segment or multiple missions, but nothing like Rogue Squadron. (That's still available on Steam. Heck, I'll probably buy it) I remember the thrill of dogfighting when I was an X-wing pilot. This was only compounded by the presence of the wingman. For the most part, I was happy using the controller to fly and drive. I forgot about the wingman for the most part. A few months ago I also bought a wonderful game called "Everspace". Simply put, this is a rogue-style interstellar combat sim. To take full advantage of the Store's features, you need at least five axes and two triggers. (You need more buttons, and the joystick has them, don't worry) I tried playing with an Xbox 360 controller, to play with it you have to auto-level the ship, which doesn't make sense in zero gravity. , but is meaningless without the control. Even the normally excellent Steam Controller left a lot to be desired, as the trackpad controls felt odd. (It really worked, mind you) The developer recommended the keyboard and mouse I use for shooters, but this one made me feel weird. Anyway, I found the Logitech Extreme by accident and remember my old one. Seeing an even lower price I decided to give it a try. The game obviously supports joysticks, after a plug and play installation of Windows 10 where I only had to plug in one joystick, it took me about 10 minutes to manually configure the joystick in the game controls. As soon as I started playing, the game came alive, the intuitive joystick controls brought the best in both the experience and my gameplay. If I had that controller as an option I would definitely look for more space based or other games. I'm not sure if there's any software out there that lets you use them for games that don't support them, but I'm hoping I can find games, especially a couple of anti-gravity racing games that I wanted to use that with try it.
