Last year my tap water started smelling strongly of chlorine. While our city officials claimed the water was fine, they admitted that some repairs were being made. Although I already have filters in the fridge for ice/drinking water and in the kitchen sink for cooking, I still have bathroom sinks (for brushing teeth) and showers, which is what led me to these filters. After installing these filters, not only is the smell of chlorine almost completely gone, but my shower head and the inside of the walls are actually cleaner as a result. I've come to terms with the fact that mineral buildup on the shower head and walls was normal, but not only stopped the decay, it also removed something. Also, I feel a lot cleaner after the shower and my skin isn't as dry. I'm amazed at how much crap gets on the wire mesh filter with each change - I can only imagine what I can't see lingering in the filter. Although I don't have them. scientific data shows how well these filters work and I can't attest to how many parts per million they reduce this or that, I can tell you I can smell and feel a huge difference. I will never shower at home with unfiltered water again and will continue to use these specialty filters for as long as they have been around.
