Works like a champ for my front flap

The buckles and straps on my kayak's front flap have completely failed. They were so brittle that I couldn't even close them. I'm like that so it was super easy. In fact, I inserted the ends into the part that screws into the kayak and then just buckled them up. You don't have to do this and can just use the sleeve for the buckle, but it will be a lot stronger if you sew it on. They won't stretch or slip when wet and can withstand days of direct sunlight. I'm very glad I have them and even have extra ones in case I tear them up.

Pros
  • Stitching
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than others
