Good budget tube amp.

I use this amp with DCM Time Windows, NAD 1300 preamp and Pioneer CD player. I use a preamp because I need tone controls and the R8 doesn't have them. After warming up, it sounds very nice. It was considered a great entry-level purchase pretty much everywhere I checked, and so far it has been.
