These pans are like the ceramic coated copper ceramic pans I love, thought I'd give them a try. We have three rescue parrots, so pan safety is incredibly important. We cannot use regular non-stick material as it is poisonous to birds. So they said it was the non-toxic type and I bought it. However, the packaging I received says nothing about the coating. No documents with a description as in the ad. That worried me a little. But most importantly, my husband (an engineer who works with silicones on a regular basis) said that the grips would pose a problem if they got too hot, as silicone is toxic at high temperatures. Handles (can be removed through) but then we decided to just use them as trays as we just weren't sure about safety. If they had indicated the plating characteristics on the box or inside the box and confirmed that it was the safest version of copper-ceramic, I might have felt that they were safe, albeit still only at low temperatures.
