Review on 🖌️ Bravekoi Watercolor Pencils: Professional 72 Colored Pencil Set for Artistic Adults and Kids - Perfect for Watercolor Painting, Drawing, Sketching, and Coloring by Denise Davis

Background: I am a very mediocre amateur painter. I've been drawing for a long time (mainly in graphite - never paint), but it's only recently that I've gotten into watercolor and gouache. It looked like a fun new medium to try combining drawing and watercolor painting. The set comes in a nice box that can be used to store pens. The kit comes with a brush that isn't the best quality but works well enough. Pens are thoughtfully and logically arranged in three bowls. This is a great color palette and probably more than I need. They come pre-sharpened and are easy to re-sharpen. They also include a little adult coloring book with lots of pictures to color in, which I wasn't interested in using but you might like if it's your thing (although the paper is probably too thin to use water!). You can see my photos of a small, simple still life I painted on a 140lb watercolor cold-pressed sketchbook, both before and after activating the pigment with water. This was my first attempt with this medium. I'm really pleased with how easy it was to draw with the pens and how well the pigment activated and mixed with some water on the brush that came with it. If, like me, you are new to this environment. Watch some YouTube videos to learn some simple techniques and you will be done. Of course, you can also use these pens as part of mixed media art, combining them with pencil, charcoal, ink, watercolor, etc. I look forward to trying them out in this context as well. Just to use them for coloring, you can save money and get a set of standard crayons. But if you use them with thicker watercolor paper and want to get all the cool effects that watercolor pencils have, this is a really good set that I'm looking forward to for a long time.
