PERFECT! I've been looking for a wider collar for my St. Bernard for a long time, she's only 8 months old but she's growing like weeds! I admit this is the second collar I have ordered. Same color/type but I ordered XL first because I thought Bernard = XL. My fault for not measuring. I kept it anyway and ordered a second one hoping it will grow into it or I'll just give it away. This martingale is perfect! This helps me control her much better without worrying about her slipping or digging in like I did with the 1 inch collars. I haven't experienced any color washout as other reviewers have mentioned. It's Michigan weather + she's swimming in it. The collar is very well made and has strong fittings. I'm not worried about her lashing out if she decides to follow the squirrel's lead! I contacted Country Brook after ordering my first collar, lovely people! Good service! The packaging was perfect and charming. I posted photos of how it arrived. It's slightly darker than purple, but still a beautiful gemstone violet shade. The flash makes it appear ridiculously purple. Each of them arrived just a few days after ordering! So pleasant! I sent them to all my friends.
