Review on Wi-Fi signal amplifier (repeater) TP-LINK TL-WA855RE, white by Adam Kotula ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The quality is top notch and I recommend the product for purchase.

And in general, in the settings it is optimal to leave everything by default. Especially the DCHP server is “auto” the most, otherwise you won’t get into the settings via WiFi when the mother network is turned off, you only have to use a cord or do a reset. PS c D-Link DIR-320 (A2 and B1) no problems were noticed on stock firmware. PPS with a small signal (when the red indicator is on) cuts the speed in half. In fact, it is identical to TP-LINK TL-WA860RE, the only difference is there is no socket and a little smaller because of this.

Pros
  • Not a bad thing: it catches a weak signal well, long range (if compatible with your router, see disadvantages). It makes sense to use it if there is no way to stretch copper. Two of his antennas do indeed have antennas, and not just a decorative piece of plastic for solidity. Convenient software for the phone to configure it.
Cons
  • Not compatible with all WiFi routers: Keenetic 4G (1st generation NDMS v22022.С0 (KN-1210)) repeatedly dead freezes when pulling this extender out of the power supply. That is, there may be problems during power failures. The reason is for some routing curvature, because the extender itself is assigned an IP address, unlike access points, and all devices passing through it change their MAC address (in this case, the first part of the address is written to the router from the extender, the second - from the device itself. Solution: connect the extender through the guest network. It also didn’t start with the Chinese GW GT835 - the router does not perceive it at all and throws it out of the network after a few seconds when connected. I did not find a solution. In general, you need to look at the specific model of the router that you have worth it and try.
