Randolph Engineering aviator sunglasses are the only metal sunglasses left made in the USA and I can say the only sunglasses that are at the highest level of quality. RE sunglasses are on par with Rolex and Omega watches and Allen Edmonds shoes, but happily and surprisingly at a price point most people can afford. They're also among the sunnies that use glass lenses, which are always clearer than even the best plastic. The only potential downside is that they have a limited number of styles and most people either want the original aviator goggles or a similar style that fits a slightly different face shape. Lenses. The metallic bronze is much less dark/grey/black than the photos; it's much closer to shiny chrome, but a little darker. If you need dark frames, go for matte black. The green lenses are great, less green than something like the Ray Ban G15 and more gray (I have both gray and green from RE and they aren't as different as you might think). The polarization of the RE lenses is the best I've tried, you can see the bottom right through the water, it's really impressive. In general, I would recommend RE sunglasses to everyone.
