I LOVE THIS CAMERA!

I recently took this camera with a PowerShot Elph 110 on a Caribbean cruise. Since I have a waterproof case for the 110, I used it whenever I was shooting in wet areas and underwater. I have used the SX500 in dry areas. In some cases I was able to take the same pictures with both cameras and the difference was really amazing. First let me say that I am NOT a photographer. I'm just someone who likes to take lots of pictures. I like it when they come out well, but I know next to nothing about photography other than what I've learned through trial and error. I found low light shots to be MUCH better with the SX500 than the Elph. Yes, it's difficult to capture a moving subject in low light. This is not an expensive professional camera. I'm very happy with the results considering the price I paid. The zoom lens sold the most. I was absolutely amazed at how clear the images were captured from a VERY long distance. I took this camera to Opening Day to see the Red Sox players receiving their World Series rings. We didn't have the best seats, so I had to make the most of my zoom lens. I was sure the photos would be blurry. It's difficult to keep the camera steady at very high magnification while standing in a crowd. The photos were EXCELLENT. I'm serious. Terrific! I am very happy with this purchase. The camera is small and easy to carry on a neck strap. If I need something for my bag, I choose Elph. I would call it a bridge camera. It is NOT as easy to carry as a pocket-sized digital, but not as uncomfortable to carry as a more professional model. It's EASY to use. Also for beginners like me! And takes great photos. I'm sure my shots will get even better as I've had more trial and error lessons.
