It would be much more helpful if the waist and inseam measurements were included in the size chart. We have a tall, skinny child (22.5" waist, 28" inseam). We ordered a size 8 and the length was good (just a bit long so it had a bit of room to grow) but the waist was huge. The belt allowed them to be tightened, but they looked like parachute pants. The pants themselves were good quality but I think we'll have to look elsewhere as I suspect the next size up will be too short.
