Can't connect to app as written

I can't connect my watch to the app so I can't get notifications. When I click on Facebook, it asks me to insert a SIM card. According to the description I don't need it once I've connected it to the app. So it won't work out the way I wanted it to. I wouldn't have bought it if I had known
