The sound quality is okay. Not the biggest. Installation was a headache in the back. In a 2001 Dodge Ram you should have an amp somewhere. When the amo isn't working, all of your energy goes from the steroid to the amp, causing the radio not to sound at first. I had to remove the door panels, get to the wiring and cut all the wires except for the positive and negative purple and blue wires. If you need to do this, this is definitely a project. If you only do this with the driver and passenger door, the noise is just there. If you want sound through all the doors you will need to cut all the wires on each door except for the blue and purple positive and negative wires. Although I can't remember which is which. So if you don't have sound, be prepared for many projects.
