These bad guys won't go away

They were easy to install even for a beginner. Used the bearing holes. My only issues were getting to the internal bolts, and that's a Jeep thing. Very solid and clean looking. Much better than an OEM that decided to go downhill...but either way, it's a great extra that also has its own value.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Some problems

He has come out of himself. - Hood air intakes and vents

Loved the look and feel but didn't match my 2011 Wrangler. The locking piece has two posts together with a bolt to secure it. The posts did not match the factory holes. I also held the latch and found that it created more clearance between the hood and fender. That big gap seemed unnecessary and looked bad.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

A definite improvement over standard JK fasteners.

Very easy installation in JK. Use a 13mm ratchet wrench and pull the grille forward and the old gray rubber scraps will pop off easily. Looks a lot better. Perhaps due to the lack of QS on the Jeep part, one side is tighter than the other but still holds the hood well. Obviously there is no latch function, but I have a center screw for the hood, so I don't need it.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • I don't like anything about it, everything is fine

Value for money but quality not sure

Looks the same as standard closures. The top/hood assembly wasn't too bad, but the bottom/fender was more difficult. After installing and closing the hood and latch there doesn't seem to be much tension but it doesn't rattle and the latch seems to stay in place so I think that's a good thing. I opened the latch to check, the metal part it's stuck to is already rusting from peeling paint. It's ok for the money, but I'm not sure about the quality.

Abigail OEM Bonnet Latch Set for Wrangler JL

I bought these bonnet latches for my JK. You will either have to drill holes for the JK hood latch or break the tabs on the latch. I decided to break the tabs and the latches snapped instantly. With the no-drill method, the hood sits a little higher, but the hood fits securely, the hood no longer flaps. If the hood edge line is a problem for you, you will need to "cut open" the hood latch to adjust it. Overall I am happy with the bonnet latches, they look cleaner, the bonnet is firm and the…

Garbage Product Best in Hood Scoops & Vents

Do not buy this item. Worst guide I've ever tried to read in my entire life. Mistakes in spelling common words, fuzzy instructions, and images turn completely black without help. When I finally installed the latches after about an hour, I encountered an installation problem that resulted in scratching the paintwork on my jeep's hood! I'm usually never unhappy, but those hood latches are bullshit. Skip those hood latches, it saves you the frustration of installing and wasting money. Wouldn't…

The equipment supplied did not match the instructions. Not easy to install.

I just finished the installation and it wasn't easy due to the location of the bottom lock. On the passenger side, the air intake had to be removed for installation. what is my problem The instructions state that the top latch uses four pan head screws. The four pieces that came in the box looked like the picture shown. They look more like countersunk screws than pan head screws. The "tools required" lists a 4mm wrench, but the supplied bolts require 3mm, and the nuts require an 8mm deep socket

Not bad, but: Air scoops and vents

I don't write many reviews but thought I'd write about this product in case it helps someone else. I installed these latches on my JKU 2011 with no problems. Grille and both headlights removed. Although it was a little difficult and I had to twist my arm and body into a pretzel, I was able to reach out and attach the nut to the base of the latch. Use factory fitted nuts with washers for this as using the supplied locknuts and separate washers is a major problem. I used locknuts for the hood…
