This TRS-1 is cheap, reasonably sized and has detachable shutter release cables for use with different brands of cameras. (I have the Panasonic version and it works great with my GH2.) I hang it on a tripod with the detachable strap. I've used Vello Shutterboss (v1) and a few others. The user interface and functionality is the same for all. No surprises with TRS-1. It "just works". Before purchasing I had 2 unanswered questions. Here are the answers: The shot limit is adjustable from 1 to 199 shots OR unlimited. (The 199 limit is in the specs, but I was glad I could set the number to [---] and shoot endless shots.) Turning off the device saves your settings even after you do that have removed batteries. (I've read conflicting reports about this. Some have said that settings are lost when the device is turned off.)
