This was to replace my last 12 volt solar charger to keep my car batteries going. Unfortunately, the 12V cigarette lighter in the car does not work. As already mentioned, the connector is very tight. It flexes the plastic casing around the outlet when you try to plug it in. There's also no indicator light when it's charging like my last charger. I suspected the red plastic piece was in the way, removed it, still won't charge. Only checked the plug cable for continuity and that turned out to be the culprit. Poorly designed plug. The crocodile clips work perfectly. This panel charges at a slightly higher voltage than the other charger. However, it's useless without a good outlet, as this is the most convenient way to plug it in.
