Awkward, inconsistent, poor design

These goggles make a promise of comfort and ease of use, but I personally find that they fall short of that promise in many ways. First, it's convenience. Fabric elastic band that wraps around the back of the head. The mask is attached to the glasses with plastic dowels. The mask can be removed with little effort. The plastic frame has an almost straight edge at the bottom that cuts into the bridge of the nose. A simple cut or sanded notch fixes this, but it should have been present in the mold construction at the factory. The rubber pad that seals against your face is generally good, but its shape makes the mask pop. face and finally the bottom pad starts to press on the underside of my eyelids. Because of the edging mentioned above, I can't lower it to sit on my cheekbones like I assume they're expecting you to. - The pad does not fully adhere to the face, be prepared for dirt to get inside. The mask's chin immediately hits my chest as I try to look down. If the mask were further away from the face, this might not be such an issue. I'm almost tempted to buy a paintball mask and have goggles modified on it. It would be much more convenient. usage/performance. The mask/goggles have 2 sensors in each top corner. Which sensors? you don't speak I assumed it was infrared, but my flashlight doesn't activate it on its own, so it's something else. The on/off switch is on the right, the controls on the left. Dials control sensitivity (amount of light source), hue (darkness), and delay time (darkness). The auto on/off seems inconsistent, if I knew what the sensors were looking for I could test them properly. These are my results with sensitivity at or near maximum. Mobile phone screen (Google Pixel 4a). Welding, cutting, grinding flashlight for mobile phones. Welding, trimming, grinding ceiling lights (40W LED equivalent). UV torch (small) welding, cutting, grinding. Butane gas torch (small) welding, cutting, grinding. Welding - turns on when ignited then turns off with a delay Cutting - turns on when ignited then turns off Grinding - turns off Sun test. Weld, cut, grind Real control problems. - The sensitivity slider, when set to maximum, basically disables the delay timer. Once switched on, the glasses stay on until I reduce the sensitivity a bit. Or until I turn the delay timer off almost to the max. Or I take off my glasses. Oh, and when I turn it on at max sensitivity and delay it goes dark and stays dark until I change the settings like above. - Delay doesn't seem to work as described. At maximum sensitivity, the latency will last the glasses indefinitely unless set very low. In the lower range, the delay is 0.5 to 2 s, which is actually quite nice. But when the sensitivity is slightly reduced from the maximum, the delay never exceeds 1s and goes down to 0.5s or less. The dimmers work really well and the change is very noticeable as you turn the knob. My only complaint is that the darkness appears uneven across the lens. It's darkest in the middle and lightens up a bit at the edges/corners. Considering the cost, I expected a lot more from them. Bought these to save space as I'm just a DIYer planning on rigging the welding. But I want to feel comfortable and safe at work.

Pros
  • 2 premium sensors provide precision and redundancy for fast detection, precise control, and quick response.
