Attaches to your camera in only one location (tripod hole) so it's only as secure as you want to screw it in. It's a bit inconvenient to make manual adjustments with it on your camera as it tends to get in the way. This gives you access to your camera's hot shoe mount and also offers an extra one, so it's nice. And the construction is pretty solid, I wouldn't worry about anything. I would rate it higher though. 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 HOLES WILL NOT BE PLACED ON UNIVERSAL PLACEMENT! Most of your connection heads may fit, but once you need two screws for a device, you may be out of luck depending on where you plan to place it. I got around this by adding some nato rails to the sides as the screws holding the nato rails have some lateral headroom.
