I sprained my left wrist and I wore one of those bandages that also cover my hand to keep my wrist straight like I had from a previous injury. I saw this and thought I'd try it along with another one from the same company. This one, Type 4, is a little tricky to put on as it attaches with velcro in several different places. This would allow you to actually use compression if you want, but I don't. They are comfortable and although they are said to only need 2 hours on, I found them comfortable enough to wear overnight. The velcro is not strong enough to be difficult to remove. This helped my wrist not to bend too much, but still allowed me to use more of my arm than with the device I had previously used. I like it. I have also ordered type 3 of this brand and think it is more of a preventive support than a recovery support. It's easier to wrap, but the velcro is harder to remove, which can also strain your wrist when trying to tug on it. It doesn't seem to rise above your hand that much. And my wrist would sweat a little from it. So for me this is a winner. After a few days my wrist felt better and now I only wear it when I'm doing something where I want to try not to bend my wrist too much.
