My advice is don't buy a new C Pen that can only scan text. It's worth every penny. Reading and commenting on the computer doesn't help me concentrate. PDF annotations aren't very useful for e-readers, and the refresh rate and small screen can be annoying. Paper is my only option as it allows me to completely isolate myself from the internet and focus entirely on the text in front of me. But do I have to take notes? That's when this gem comes into play. I can highlight all important facts and send texts to my computer. I then drag and drop these texts into a mind mapping tool, to synthesize topics and links between research articles. Stop wasting time typing text into your computer. If you can't tell already, I love commenting on my readings. This includes books borrowed from the library. With this C-Pen, I can highlight all the selected quotes and save them to my computer after I've finished the book. This is not possible with a normal highlighter. If I want to comment, I have to buy a book. The best thing about this device is the accuracy of the text scanning. I read other Revain reviews and expected the scanning feature to be difficult to use. This model is fast and accurate, nothing to do with the negative reviews mentioned. I would say up to 97% accuracy. The dictionary function is useful when learning new words. I didn't realize how much I needed it until I used it. The battery lasts a very long time on a single charge. I finished the book at 300 pages and still at 80%. Very convenient. Will I buy this device again? 100% yes! This is the best investment in my educational career. I wish I had found this fantastic tool sooner.
