Review on πŸŒ‘ Noctua NH-U9S chromax.Black: Premium 92mm Single-Tower CPU Cooler in Sleek Black Design by Todd Look

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Installed on a Dell XPS 8940

I ordered a Dell XPS 8940 from Costco and to my surprise found that it came with a crappy pancake standard CPU cooler. After reading several posts on the Dell forums I chose it as the replacement. I bought M3x16 and M3x20 screws from the forums and used them to attach the brackets to the motherboard. From top to bottom I had a 3mm washer, a 4mm washer mount and a spacer. Installation was easy, but make sure you connect the fan to the motherboard before installing the heatsink. The fan is easy to remove and very easy to reattach. I would like to caution buyers to make sure your product is new. I originally got used to it. The box looked like it had been opened before. When I opened the box, I noticed the instructions were wrinkled and smeared with thermal paste. Fasteners dangled in the box. There were also spots of thermal paste on the heatsink and a tube of thermal paste was missing. They sent me a replacement with no problem. The idle CPU temperature when opening YouTube and email is 30C and when playing Planet Zoo for a few minutes the temperature rose to around 40-43C. I also have the 80mm fan on the Replaced rear with 92mm fan and installed another 92mm fan in front for exhaust.
