Easy to install, quiet, perfect for 92mm HTPC (SilverStone cases)

I installed this on an i7 HTPC/lightweight gaming rig with a couple of old SLI 970s. I bought this fan to replace one Fan that could not exhaust the HTPC efficiently enough that it had to work twice as hard, which as we all know is terrible for our processors. I ended up here thinking I needed the thinnest fan profile that could fit in my HTPC case -- you know, no measurements or anything. In any case, this fan will easily fit in a HTPC SilverStone case (Grandia GD09) (if you are building an…

Installation is easy if you use the threaded screw method.

If you are among the Dell G5 or XPS users trying to solve overheating issues, this cooler is perfect. But save yourself the headache by using the screw method mentioned in JSyntax's YouTube video. Just search for Dell G5/XPS cooler update. The four M3x25mm set screws you need are hard to find unless you want to buy 100 of them, but I found 10 at a flea market for $8. It was so easy with this method. The cooler snaps right into place and there is no need to access the back of the motherboard to…

Installed on a Dell XPS 8940

I ordered a Dell XPS 8940 from Costco and to my surprise found that it came with a crappy pancake standard CPU cooler. After reading several posts on the Dell forums I chose it as the replacement. I bought M3x16 and M3x20 screws from the forums and used them to attach the brackets to the motherboard. From top to bottom I had a 3mm washer, a 4mm washer mount and a spacer. Installation was easy, but make sure you connect the fan to the motherboard before installing the heatsink. The fan is easy…

Great mini tower, premium price

The AMD stealth cooler didn't fit my small form factor. The system could hit a thermal wall under full load (96°C CPU). After installing NH-U9S: CPU temperature only reached the low to mid 70s and 80s under graphics card load. In general, the temperature drops by 10-20 ° C, but it becomes quieter. An important note and two difficulties: NH-U9S does not prevent the installation of RAM. However, the RAM can partially block the fan (see attached photos). Second, the installation guide didn't…

It's Noctua and it's black

I love that Noctua has started making their coolers in black instead of the horrible brown and beige. The name is known for its quality. They're a bit pricey, but generally you get what you pay for. This cooler was the largest cooler I could fit into the case I chose (Rajintek Metis). It cools the 11600K and keeps the CPU below the mid-80s even under desktop load. It usually idles at 32. It's MUCH quieter than the Evo 212 and cools a lot better. I don't think this will come as a surprise to…
