Contrary to one of the reviewers' pictures, the one I received has no brand, no instructions, nothing but the thermos itself. Not the best design like some Japanese. But this is the only all-stainless steel available in the US that I could find. I tested it with boiling water and after 4 hours measured it was still pretty hot at 130 degrees. And after 12 hours it still feels warm. So I would say it works. I'll try to use it for lunch, see how it goes, especially if it's not runny. After all, not everyone makes soup all the time hoping it will keep the food hot and not runny. Update: After having it for so long we finally got the chance to use it. With Covid it's harder to go out to a restaurant so we cooked lunch ourselves and had a picnic. I cooked the ribs and potatoes for the bottom, the rice for the middle, and the veggies for the top. I use my finger to measure the height so I don't overflow each layer. Three hours later our lunch is still hot. Today was pretty cool. This container is enough for lunch for two. So happy to have a warm home cooked meal at the park.
