My husband is in the military and therefore often on deployments. Unfortunately on top of that we live in an area where it seems like it rains all the time so the gloves he has to wear usually get wet soon after the rain starts. I bought them hoping that at least for once my husband's hands would stay dry. Another great feature we love is that you can use your phone with these gloves on, so you don't have to take them off to text someone. Of course, if it's raining, this feature only works if your phone is waterproof (not waterproof). We tested these gloves by putting them on and putting our hands under the flow tap. After 3 minutes they were still repelling water and our hands were dry they passed the test in my book. It's about as wet as rain. So if it can handle the non-stop flow from the tap, I think rain will be fine too. I will update this review once my husband gets to use them in the field in the rain as it wasn't raining the last time he got them but they have held up and are quite good apart from being from were tested with a grunt . So they are definitely quite durable.
