I got this as a Christmas present from my son. that's a cute little thing. but I put oil in the bell and it fell into the water. So we tried again to cast lots on the bell. he slipped back into the water. We had water on the tap. So I figured it's okay to just leave it there, with no water. still works fine. But someone saw that there was no water and added water. I thought there was no water in it so I didn't check to change the water. I opened it up after about 3 days and found a very putrid, smelly, oily slush of water. Now we keep the oil there without water and mostly without a lid
