it cannot be marked with traditional methods. It helps me. I was concerned that there wasn't enough glue in it based on other reviews and reviews. It's easier to peel off than regular tape, but it actually sticks a little more than we'd like. I use a fine line marker as it works better than a ballpoint pen, at least on fleece. It definitely has more staying power than stickers because I've tried fleece backing in the past. The stickers moved too slightly for better accuracy, and clear tape is better. The only downside is that the roll doesn't come in a plastic dispenser. Luckily, I keep my regular scotch in a tabletop dispenser and just switch out as needed.
