I use a backup hard drive cable to back up my PC via USB. Using Flashbench, I measure about 140 MB/s over the cable, which isn't the cable limit, it's the hard drive that sets the limit. The contacts are gold-plated, which is a quality feature. The jacket is made of nylon and is very durable. The body of the connector is metal and the strain relief is sufficient to avoid damage when bent at extreme angles.
