Plastic, overly glossy finish looks a lot cheaper/thinner than the Series 7 predecessor, but the biggest shaving surface is the biggest complaint. Actually the whole razor is too big. It is too wide, which makes shaving the beard uncomfortable. Also, the balance isn't right - it just feels badly weighted/balanced in the hand. Definitely not worth the outrageous money they charge for it. I prefer the older and cheaper 7 Series.
