Charge it for 12 hours as recommended and let it run on HIGH to the discharge point. That was about 5 hours later. Recharged after 11 hours. Sufficient for my needs. I want to create a draft in a freestanding shower to dry out the moisture, but without a power connection. Place the charged fan on a dry shelf. let it break Charge with solar energy until next use. (You're unlikely to need to shower more than every 11 hours, even by the oddest US standards.) Two notes on explaining the 4 stars at this point: (1) There is one feature to note. The switch has a "STOP" and an "OFF" setting and the fan battery will NOT charge if you turn it to the "OFF" position. You will see the green light blink to indicate it is charging when charging with the STOP setting. My fan does not flash green when I turn it off. This note can be used as a reminder. If you want it to charge, look for the flashing light! (2) I would like Squaretrade or someone else to offer a replacement insurance plan for new products of this type. I'd pay $3 for a no-questions-asked replacement in case something goes wrong, and I suspect many buyers will do the same until the new model has enough post-marketing experience to demonstrate reliability. The manufacturer may be able to negotiate a deal with Squaretrade or another warranty service that Revain offers for other products in the electronics line.
