UPDATE: 20-Oct-2022I try to be fair and balanced. If I get expected service, I'm fine. If I get terrible service, I'll say something. If I get great service, I'll do my best to let managers know. EBL "knocked me over with a feather."I posted my original review, and within 24 hours EBL sent me a message asking what happened (see photo) and they noted I placed an order for the new model. When it comes to overall customer service we've seen the past 10+ years, it is abysmal at best. EBL is a welcome exception.I sent a photo and they actually interacted with me. It just wasn't a bot. If it was a bot, EBL has jumped a quantum in bot technology!While 2 bays did fail, I was quite happy how quickly and easily EBL interacted with me on the issue. You rarely see that today.A BIG THANK YOU to EBL.BTW, I do like the charger. I use ENELOOP rechargables, they work great.ORIGINAL:I don't use this a lot, and only a few times have I used all 8 bays. It did worked well, and I was happy until.two bays recently stopped working, and another pair seem marginal/unreliable. And, when charging you have to charge in pairs (2,4,6,8). I just ordered the "new" 2022 version C9042W. Granted the original was like $14, I still expect stuff to last. Made in Japan use to be a sign of cheap quality, now it is really good. Then we had Made in South Korea, and it become good over time. Now we have Made In China, and quality tends to be very poor, look at the "guarantee" of 50,000 hours for LED bulbs that cost 5x as much as incandescent but only last like 3,000-4,000 hours. Having stuff fail means more trash and filled up landfills if they can't be recycled. I hope the 2022 EBL addresses quality, and will last a long time.
