The material is very cheap. Almost feels like foam instead of wood/plastic. Your hamster can easily chew on the material and can be dangerous if swallowed. It is easy to assemble but you must be careful not to break it when inserting the ladder parts into the bridge as they are very fragile. Instead, buy your child a flexible wooden bridge. much stronger and safer to chew!
