Not light. Not white. Not correct.

I got this offset backlight for a 27" computer monitor that I mounted on the armrest of my standing desk. TL;DR - the light is definitely not bright enough even on the brightest setting, there isn't a real one White and was difficult to set up. They are probably suitable for dark rooms, mounted on a 42" TV very close to the wall, but not suitable for anything else. Brightness/color is the main issue I'm having "It's brightness. If you mount them on something more than 12" from a wall, be aware that the light emitted by the LEDs will be very weak, even at the brightest setting. This can occur in dark rooms It may be fine, but any ambient light will destroy the offset lighting. And true white doesn't exist either. The "white" offered via the app controls is very blue and its warmest settings seem to affect brightness even more. These are wired connections only (no backlight). Although I got the smallest strip I could find, I knew they were for large screens and expected low light to occur, little did I know that it wasn't a long LED strip I did manage to find a way to roll up the pieces of wire and overlap the lighting areas to ensure even distribution of the LEDs across the back of my monitor, but that was a pain. Also, as others have pointed out, the glue is just that 3M double-sided tape. One side is pre-glued to the actual LED strip. The other side that you need to peel off is very difficult to pull off the tape. There are no protruding or stretchy tabs to make it easy to peel off The pre-taped portion isn't strong enough to prevent accident count by peeling off the entire tape, not just the layer you need to peel off. Since the LED strip also has 4 sections, this means you have to do this 4 times. It was painful. Application - the application is fine. I was able to connect the light to the app fairly easily, and the response time when selecting a color or turning the light on and off is pretty quick. There are many areas for improvement in the UX and feature set of the app, but I expected this to work. And it is. Value - I think you get what you pay for. These things are cheap and you won't miss $15 or so if they don't fit you. They work, and for some people who just want plain background colors when watching a movie in the dark, I'm sure that's fine. Unfortunately, they don't quite meet my expectations.
