I have just purchased three different SAM tires from Revain and they appear to be comparable: (a) Brand SAM, $13.49, made in the USA (b) Everready 4.25" X 36" Soft Aluminum Tire $6.16 Made in China (c) Dixie 4.25" X 36" Soft Aluminum Tire $5.87 Made in China In terms of stiffness they are all about the same hardness and SAM seems to me to be the softest of them all. They weigh different amounts, maybe the weight of foam, maybe the weight of aluminum, maybe both. In the same order as above, Weight: (a) 123g (b) 149g (c) 140g The only major difference I can tell apart from the instructions printed on the tire is the smell. (a) No odor (b) Slight oil odor (c) ) Slight oil odor. B and C are folded. I straightened and rolled them just like the SAM brand. The fact that they were rolled didn't seem to affect my ability to roll them or mold the tires into the shape I wanted.
