PROS:- Value for money- Gripping area larger than most other slotted spoon coasters- Dishwasher safe CONS:- May stain - May be a little wider WHAT YOU BEFORE SHOULD KNOW BUYING: - Each slot is wide at the top and narrow at the bottom to accommodate a small or large thickness of the handle - Be sure to dry thoroughly after washing. The empty space below can have a mold problem if it's still damp and put on the counter. REVIEW: I chose this skimmer stand because it was one of the largest on the market at the time and didn't have an entry in the 6 to 8 slot range. The material is well made and, as you'd expect, a bit flimsy when taken off the stand. It's not hard plastic, it's soft silicone. The bottom of the spoon rest is hollowed out where the raised slots are, so be sure to dry it completely after washing. What I love most about this design is its use with a type of cooking tongs that snap together to stay closed. I've always hated trying to lock and unlock the lock when working with a platter and holding the lid, I usually try to bite into the little locking mechanism and pull it with my teeth. Because this spoon rest features large slots, the tongs fit easily between two slots, can be placed or removed with one hand, and are ready to use without the hassle of a lock. If you use all 4 slots it will seem a little tight, but if this item were much wider it could take up too much space on the table. I read reviews that it gets dirty easily. I haven't had this problem yet, but I wash it off very quickly. I make something like spaghetti sauce or other dark sauces. I've washed it in the dishwasher a few times, although I usually hand wash it to try to reduce the chance of the dishwasher heat leaving a stain. Overall I am very happy with this product and will probably order more for myself. or as gifts.
