Very satisfied so far

TRENDnet 2-port USB KVM switch and cable set. I was starting to work from home and needed a way to switch between my work laptop and my home system. I have 4 monitors on my laptop and 2 on my home system. I didn't want to spend $500 or more on a multi-monitor KVM switch. Instead I bought two of these and one and now I can switch two monitors, a mouse and a keyboard between the two systems. So far I've been pleasantly surprised at how well they work. I had no problems switching. They switch almost immediately. I've only lost my monitor settings once in about 2 weeks of use, but I think I did something extraordinary back then. Aside from the money savings, I think buying several of these really cheap KVMs has several advantages over buying just one. really expensive multimonitor KVM: 1) If one fails, you simply exchange it, very cheap. Instead of losing a $500 device, you only lose a $20 device. 2) You get two USB ports with each KVM, giving you more options to customize your devices. For example, I have a KVM mouse and keyboard for the main monitor, but I have a wireless headset on the secondary monitor. This way I can leave my headset plugged into my work laptop and only switch the main monitor to my PC temporarily. 3) They are very light and take up very little space. It was possible to buy additional ones to change only certain devices without changing the monitor. For example, I can buy another one to just wear the headset. It's a bit of an exaggeration, but it's possible. The only potential downside is that you have to press multiple buttons to toggle each monitor or device. But I actually think it's an advantage to only be able to switch on the devices that you need. So I'm very happy with my setup and these KVMs. If something changes, e.g. B. if they die quickly I will update this review.
