Nice number pad after I modified it

Stock: The number pad is just *too* light. It feels like it's about to burst. Stabilizer bars and switches also rattle. Mine arrived, one of the LEDs is off (on the number key). But I'm not very versed in LEDs, so I didn't bother with returning it. Modifications: I had several spare steel/zinc discs. I welded them to the bottom of the case to add about 50g to the weight of the case. It really helped the feeling. I also added some foam to the body above the pucks. Then I soldered all the switches and greased the stabilizers. Then I soldered some of the brown silent box switches I had and added the Akko Cherry Profile keycaps (Macaw color). Since that was all I already had, the rebuild cost me nothing but time. And I'm very happy with the result. If you're looking for a numeric keypad with a detachable USB-C cable to practice your keyboard mod skills (soldering, etc.) on, this might be for you. Standard is a bit too light in my opinion, and there might be slightly better options, especially if the detachable USB-C cable isn't that important to you. However, as a platform for experimenting with mods, it is very good.

Pros
  • Glossy
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
