Review on Starter BOYA Microphone Compatible Vlogging by Tara Clark

I hate when sellers use pictures like this AND their descriptions read as if there are things included when they are NOT. This purchase does not include a tripod. Only a thick, very short handle is located at the bottom of the mount (called the F-Mount). So be careful! I wouldn't have bought it if I'd known it didn't come with a tripod. The fifth picture clearly shows the tripod, and the product description says "Video Stand Starter Kit with Cell Phone Grip and Microphone for Smartphone BOYA MM1 Shotgun Compatible with iPhone X, XS, Samsung, YouTube Vlogs in Live." What is the tripod grip in comparison to what they sent me? I am very disappointed. And now to the microphone. Well I bought a 3.5mm flash adapter to connect to my iPhone XS and no recordings (nothing) came out of the mic. The microphone comes with 2 cables - one for connecting to the camera and one for smartphones. I tried both just to make sure I didn't miss anything, although I KNEW the triple ring (which is also clearly marked on the cable) is for smartphone use. I've been trying to record sound on this for 2 days. Nothing. send everything back
