I hate using a brow pencil but as I get older the outer halves of my brows become very light and this bothers me. After trying half a dozen different sticks and powders, this one is the easiest to use! The brush at the end is the key. I can do a few strokes on the general outline I want to achieve, fill it in a bit, then take the brush and go up and down the brow to soften the lines and hide the pigment in the brow area. With practice, it's very quick to use, which is important to me - I don't like making a fuss! My eyebrows stay dark until I shower. I don't use it to create finely defined, very dark brows (although that's the trend right now and I think this pencil would work well for this technique too) but to add some darker color.
