I only give this product 1 star because the mat looks good visually but the design of this product is very poor. Well, that's partly my fault for not reading the full product description, but the back of the mat is covered in hundreds of grippy spikes. It would be nice if the Xterra's rear cargo area was carpeted, but that's not the case. The spikes are very hard and sharp and I'm afraid the spikes could scratch or worse, mark the plastic if something heavy was placed on it for a while. The rubber material is also very hard and I thought it would be more flexible. I have returned this product and will order something else. The rug would be nice if it didn't have spikes on the bottom and had a non-slip material installed instead. I bought a mat to protect the inside of my cargo area because I currently have very few scratches on the inside and I think this mat could damage the inside of your Xterra.
