Listening to NPR over the internet on my phone here at home was often annoying. We don't have enough bandwidth and it keeps dropping. This little radio does it the old fashioned way. It's like the little transistor radios of the 1970s, but smaller. The setup might seem a bit tricky, but once you have your station, it's stable. It's not a premium device, so I wouldn't recommend it if you really want to enjoy music, but it's fine for news and talk shows. Reception is ok. From time to time I have to adjust the location or the antenna, but it's not a big deal. I've been listening to it for probably about 20 hours now and haven't had to change batteries. I don't know how long that will take. If you are looking for a small old fashioned radio this is worth a try. This satisfied my need.
