This light is a nice soft white light (in my opinion). I have a 10+ gallon tank that is used to raise fry and the aquascape is minimal: a rock, some sand and a floating plant. Everything looks beautiful, the colors are clearly visible. This light is not suitable for growing plants that need more intense light: the PAR value (18 on the surface of the substrate) is quite low. This is much better suited for low light plants like Anubias, Java Fern and Cryptocoryne. Once these fish have grown and gone I will add the plants mentioned above and a few guppies. I suspect that they will look very good in this light. highlighted.
