As someone who's always used desktops with a laptop as a rare tool for on the go, the idea of switching to an all-in-one computer felt a bit odd for me. I have to say that the all-in-one aspect of the idea center is definitely a huge plus if you like a quiet office and a minimalist vibe. The Idea Center comes fully assembled with a working mouse and keyboard. All you have to do is plug it in and connect your mouse and keyboard to the back and you're good to go! The computer has a hard drive that slides out the side of the back of the monitor. It's a bit awkward insert a disc, but it works fine. I've included an image of all ports on the machine. On the back there is an Ethernet and power port, an HDMI port, a SS-USB port and 2 USB 2.0 ports. There's another SS-USB on the side, along with an SD card reader and audio jack. The SD card reader reads SD, SDXC and SDHC. To be honest, if you have to plug and unplug devices frequently, your best bet is to get a USB port expander. Plugging USB into the side USB port is not very convenient and is very close to the back of the monitor. For my purposes, two connections for peripherals on the back and one for the transmission cable for my mobile phone are sufficient. The camera works really well for Zoom calls and has a built-in slider so you can close it after use. When closed you will see a red dot behind the lens. More than enough built-in speakers and the monitor's thin bezel gives you an unexpectedly large screen to work with. As far as the setup is concerned, I was very positively surprised and quickly won over by the IdeaCenter. My old desktop burned out due to a power surge and I used an old laptop for a while and then my son's discarded gaming PC. The thought of setting up another computer and installing everything is exhausting just to think about. Lenovo seems to have thought of exactly this scenario, because the first thing the computer suggested was to wirelessly import all my files from my current computer! All I had to do was install the Lenovo Migration App on my old computer. (I'm not sure how this would work if both computers weren't running Windows 10, but mine was and the process went smoothly) The new computer gave me the PIN I entered into the old one and pulled all files over the wireless connection. ! These are small things in life, but the fact that it took about 2 minutes was surprisingly nice. Another nice touch is the Your Phone Companion app, which allows you to receive notifications from your phone (texts, notifications, etc.) straight to your phone. Computer. This can be very helpful if you often work with headphones and miss SMS and calls. The computer also found my wireless printer, installed drivers and software, and connected with no problems. I literally installed all the essentials for my home office in under 10 minutes. I've been using the Idea Center for about a week now and I have to say I'm really very happy with it. I don't miss noisy fans and lack of legroom under the table. The computer is completely silent, turns on quickly and works very well. Bluetooth works well with my headset and I haven't had any notable problems. It only has 8GB of RAM, so animating, programming, or working with large spreadsheets can cause crashes. I don't really need a very powerful computer so it suits my needs well. For those used to the days when customizing your tower took hours and customizing a computer to your likes and dislikes could take days, this is a truly wonderful little machine.
