Review on 🚡 Giro Tyrant Spherical Adult Dirt Bike Helmet: Optimal Protection and Performance by Jason Childs

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This helmet is no joke.

Update: This helmet is surprisingly cold below 50 degrees. Something in the shape seems to draw the wind into your ears and eyes. There is no way to add a face shield. There is also no way to attach a goggle strap. The balaclava helps a little. It's still a great helmet, but the lack of a face shield should be considered when riding in colder climates. I recently bought an e-bike to commute over 24 miles a day. I felt that my Giro Fixture helmet would not protect my head at higher speeds (see difference between Tyrant (left) and Fixture (right). New helmet search tip. I tried Bell Super Air MIPS and found it too bulky and heavy. Another consideration was the Fox Dropframe mountain bike helmet. The main reasons that put me off buying a Fox helmet were the lack of adjustability and MIPS technology. I also couldn't find one in the color/size I wanted. Head circumference 53cm and ordered a small Tyrant helmet. When trying on the helmet it feels a bit tight and heavy at first. Don't let that put you off, the clicker on the back is adjustable and the pads fit my head. Form fast Standing still in the helmet feels HOT However when you are cycling the vents do their job keeping your head super cool Today I am 12 Mei ridden in 95 degree heat with zero comfort. Most importantly, this helmet feels SAFE. It hugs your head in all the right places without being uncomfortable. To be honest I think this helmet is the best protection you can find without wearing full motorcycle style.
