Worked great! Whirlpool charged over $50 to replace the cord with this built in fuse. I hooked it up to my old cable and saved myself a few bucks. Of course I like doing things like that. It's not for everyone. But I think you are too, otherwise you wouldn't be considering this article. Basically it worked. I don't know if it will explode at 121C but I think it will. I was glad I could keep it below that temp when soldering it in by shielding it and wrapping some damp paper towels around the fuse.
