I was concerned when I bought this product, there were several reviews that almost put me off buying it. But I dared. Okay first let me say that the entire unit was well packaged and undamaged. When I opened the box there was a thank you card. They come with instructions, and they're pretty dumb proof that you have mechanical or electrical knowledge. The only thing I would like to say is that the alarm cable did not come with any instructions or explanation of what you can use it for. The cables to the camera were about 20 feet long and you have 4, and the ends that you plug into the Xer have nice booties to slip over for protection from the weather. After connecting everything I noticed a disk error, don't panic, you just have to format the card in the system under Basic, then Storage. Also, don't worry about the cameras installed upside down or vertically, you can change the orientation in the DVR display settings. Just remember to turn off and restart the DVR after selecting vertical and horizontal rotation. The other thing is that you can buy a Micros SD card but make sure it comes with an adapter as the device supports larger SD cards. Another thing is to make a good choice in the area where you are going to install. Most of your programming and camera control is done with the DVR remote, and the remote and the DVR need some sort of location line. I wish they had an IR extender so you can mount the unit anywhere off site. If you can, I recommend a Wi-Fi, GPS, and 4G dash cam kit made by the same company but that allows you to control it remotely with your phone. I park my truck in a lot of places and it would be nice to have that option, especially away from them. But you can't go wrong in any other system. Now for those not really familiar with cameras using night sensors or IR LEDs to narrow the camera, these little LEDs may not emit much light, just IR emitting IR light in a flood or spot configuration. The ISOs on these cameras are good for low light conditions, only in really dark areas will you have limited vision. Remember these are just tiny LED lights! Ok, I'll add to this review. Important! If you buy a micro SD card with a large SD card slot, please make sure the card is tight. Any vibration loosens the micro SD card and causes the system to keep rebooting. It took me some time to figure out what was going on. I bought a bigger card and haven't had any problems so far.
