The first one that came to me turned out to be really broken (on / off switch is broken), but they immediately sent me a replacement. The new one is fine. I looked at many similar devices and this one has the highest overall performance per USB port. Most others ONLY had 3V on all USB ports. So if you plug in a fast-charging phone or tablet, they won't get the power they need. It's only 5V, so you can connect two devices that can use the full 2.4V per port and both get full power. That was the main reason I got this. Second, separate on/off switches. I like to unplug the USB side when not in use to make sure it doesn't draw power when nothing is plugged in. The valley in the middle is also handy for propping up your phone or tablet while charging. In fact, I'm about to order the second one. UPDATE: After a year both are still working great. I have one in the living room that charges my PS4 controller often and another one in the bedroom that charges our phones every night.
