Review on ⚙️ GM Authentic Parts 15-60087 Heater Core by Imed Artun

Big job, but you need warmth.

99 S10 Blazer 4.3 130K. Started smelling AF through the HVAC vent last spring. Disconnect the heater core and use the EBay heater core bypass kit to keep the car running all summer long. In the middle of fall I finally got the chance to install the core as I needed warmth. The installation is quite complicated. It took many days in a heated garage to remove and replace. The instrument panel must be removed or at least tilted forward to access the heater block, then the heater block must also be tilted forward to access the heater core itself. But there are hidden screws in the engine bay, one under the fan resistor in the heater box, two on the firewall behind the fender wheelhouse just behind the exhaust manifold, which require a special short 10mm socket wrench (Harbour Freight) to remove. One inside under the carpet in the passenger footwell. The old foam insulation couldn't be reused, so I found the Frost King (15 x 24 x 3/16) filter media to work well for Lowe's window air conditioners. Simply cut a strip 4 inches wide, then fold it and double in thickness to get a thicker strip 2 inches wide and 24 inches long, then place it in a U-shape over the left, right, and lower side of the core . . . Then simply slide the core and foam together into the heating box without resorting to tape or glue. Another small detail at the top is pleated in the middle for a snug fit.
