Excellent retrofit hook. Not only do I have a very steep roof (10/12 pitch), my house is also flood protected. From the top of my roof to the ground about 40 feet. To fix the shingles I bought some good safety gear to protect my neck. To install, I raised the ridge vent and attached it directly to the roof joists. I now have very strong attachment points on the front and rear roofline which along with my safety shovel should keep me from falling off the roof.
