Compromise "nice " clothes
My son prefers to always wear only sports clothes. So these slightly more casual khaki shorts are a good compromise, because after all they aren't athletic shorts (an advantage for me) but still casual shorts (an advantage for my son). They feel well tailored and relatively thick, so not something you'd want to wear in the middle of winter.
